What is the On line Trade Reporting (OTR)System?

For many years Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) has been utilising valuable trade information for the purposes of developing management reports and providing a value added customer service. The information has, in the past, been obtained by  shipping lines and their agencies contacting PoMC’s Port Statistician, who then extracted the requested information and forwarded same to the these customers.

The OTR system has automated this process and as such, efficiently delivers trade information reports to shipping lines and their agencies via the internet. The provision of the OTR system has greatly enhance the value of this trade information by:

• Providing a prompt, self-service facility
• Simplifying and automating the means of accessing and delivering the reports
• Providing shipping lines and agencies with direct access to timely and accurate information
